If you wanted to capture in only one word, painters such as Giotto and Perugino or geniuses like Dante Alighieri who meditated in Foligno, streets carpeted with flowers, traditional events like the Corsa dei Ceri, living nativity scenes, medieval jousting games, castles, ancient churches, unspoiled hills and mountains, culinary traditions, patriarchal families all embraced in a framework of deep faith, simplicity, serenity and peace, in a word, it would be UMBRIA.
The Central region of Italy, the crossroads between North and South, it's as if it almost forces the tourist to stop, even for a brief visit, to absorb and participate in its magnificence.
In the heart of Umbria are its ancient hamlets, which one discovers nestled amongst the vineyards, olive groves, fields of sunflowers and wheat, all looked after with utmost care.......the tourist must stop just to take in and admire the majestic landscape.
Surrounded by tiny hamlets deriving from the Lombard castles of Saragano, and proud of its towers, is a village righteously named "Torri". The many caves that exist in the area where the first Christians took refuge. This is how another village got its name "Grutti" and in the midst of all this beauty rises S. Terenziano, a dominating hill top town with an understated magnificence.

Its origins are Etruscan and also boasts a Romanesque church of the 12th century.
Over the centuries it has changed its name from Castel Petroso to San Terenziano, named after the first Bishop and founder of the Diocese of Todi, where lie his remains in a splendid crypt of the 12th century. In this town where time seems to have stopped, modern life has not altered the town's strong and deep traditions. A few kilometers away we can find such gems of towns as Todi, Perugia, Assisi, Foligno and Spoleto, famous for they mystical, pictorial and cultural heritage.
